A Great Staff Outing At Swedish Metal

With the rush of the holiday season approaching, the staff at Swedish Metal decided to have their get-together before scheduling became impossible. What started out as a simple holiday became a Christmas celebration for entire families. Once we found out how affordable and comfortable accommodation in the Quantocks could be, we decided to bring families and all to the outing.

Combe House Hotel

One of the first places we looked at for lodging was the Combe House Hotel. This is a bed and breakfast, so two of our families decided this was the place for them. They loved the classic look of the home, and the breakfasts were wonderful. Each room had its own bath, so they didn’t have to share with other lodgers, and the location was handy to all of the group activities, too. We even gathered at the onsite, casual pub after dinner.

The Hood Arms

The Hood Arms is actually a 17th century building. The rooms are comfy, and they offer free Wi-Fi, so the more dedicated to Facebook and work stayed here. Breakfast here was terrific, and the Boules pitch provided great evening entertainment for the entire group.

The Carew Arms

Three more members of our group stayed at the Carew Arms. This structure is even older than the Hood Arms, as a 16th century building. It was located out in the country, and offered great hiking and bucolic views. We all dined at the onsite restaurant for one night of our stay. The rooms were beautiful and comfortable, and they also had free Wi-Fi.

The Old Cider House

Located on Castle Street, The Old Cider House features its own microbrewery. Some of our party stayed here, and said the rooms were in a classic style with comfortable beds and great room service. We also had our choice of breakfasts at this nice lodging, and took advantage of the great meals available.

Located on 6 High Street, The Luttrell Arms is a true landmark from the 13th century. The medieval structure has 28 rooms, and is near the Exmoor park. It’s ranked #1 in the area, and is in a quite area that makes your stay relaxing and enjoyable.

The Promenade Hotel

The Promenade Hotel is one of those that offers beachside lodging. Complete with guesthouses, the bed and breakfasts offer great food and quick access to the water. This is particularly popular with those in our group who like kayaking, surfing, and paddleboarding. It’s also great for beach combing.

The Beach Hotel

The Beach Hotel is another great location with full view and access to the beach. You can see all the way across Bristol Channel from the Beach Hotel. The rooms are nice, the dining is great, and you have plenty of access to the ocean and beach.

Besides outside activities, there is great shopping in the area, and plenty of entertainment. You’ll enjoy your stay in the Quantocks, too, with all of the great accommodations.
